Explore the nearby beaches

Corfu is well known for its beautiful beaches so it is not surprising that the summer months see thousands of people on the three beaches of Paleokastritsa.

If you are ready to walk and explore a bit further then you could reach some nearby, less crowded beaches without renting a car or scooter or using buses.

Rovinia Beach

This popular beach is highlighted in many guidebooks so people park their cars in the tiny car park and take the myriad steps down to the pebble beach. It is only a short walk from Liapades but you can also walk from Paleokastritsa.

Despite of the number of people you will most probably find more space on this beach than in Paleokastritsa.

Limni beach

Limni Beach

The well photographed, double sided Limni Beach is about 3km from Liapades, but you can follow a narrow forest path from Paleokastritsa and then after a short section on the road you can descend through olive groves to the beach. Small boats also stop there as it is an excellent spot for snorkelling.

Linidoros Beach

This scenic beach is only accessible by boat or foot so if you follow the trail there you might have the entire beach for yourself or you might only have to share it with a handful of people. Take a picnic and snorkelling kit and make it into a full day out. After swimming and snorkelling the climb back on a hot day can be challenging but it will worth every drop of sweat.

angelokastro fort

You will then walk among olive trees before arriving at Angelokastro. The final climb is on rocky steps. Visit he monastery that dates back to 1228 but the current buildings were built during the 18th century.
