How to travel this summer

The last few months was all about restrictions, and uncertainty. If you had some great travel plans to travel this summer or anytime this year, almost certainly at least half of those great plans were cancelled or postponed. By this time you might be prepared to have a last minute adventure travel this summer.

How to travel this summer

Driving

If you plan carefully you might be able to get that well deserved summer get away. The safest way to travel this summer is most probably driving. And if you want to venture further than the fully booked Cornwall or the Lake District but don`t want to book a flight, than you might consider a trip to the continent by car.

Camping – the most affordable accommodation

The ferry is more expensive now than it was this time last year, but once you crossed the channel, you can save some money. If you are a proud owner of a campervan then you are lucky to have somewhere to sleep wherever you go. But if you are travelling by car, you could pack your tent and camping gear and head to France, Germany or Spain. You can save a lot of money on accommodation while you can remain more spontaneous. Sightseeing or sunbathing on the beach might be a very different experience this year. But if you are looking for an active outdoor holiday then you can certainly find a great campsite for a base and then you could go for day walks and mini adventures.

Regulations and rules

It is however very important that you keep up to date with the local regulations and rules. Check the official websites for travel updates. Make sure that you are aware of any local regulations before you set off.
If you are planning to eat out, check the local rules, but if you want to save money and want to avoid people, you might want to buy ingredients in the supermarket and make a simple meal on the campfire. After a day spent following trails in the mountains it will taste better than any meal in a restaurant.
